Honeymoon Day 3 (and 4) Part 2

So after we are out at sea, it was time to go to our first dinner. We ended up at a place that was open 24 hours and served all kind of fried bad for you stuff. The potato skins were really just wedge fires with all kinds of stuff on them, but they were good!

You see, our boat had all kinds of different restaurants that we can go to anytime we want. It was really nice. This place and Mambo's overlooked the lobby like area of the boat, and in the lobby there was a really cool ceiling treatment with all kinds of glass icicles hanging. There was also a Chihuly! I love his work, and he's so entertaining too.

After dinner we stopped by the nightclub in the boat, and it's a really cool place that was never as full as it should be. It had beds! A bunch of kinda Moroccan style beds all around the edge of the room. There was music and big TVs and a bowling alley (more later on bowling)

We hung out in a bed for a while and then went back to the cabin to hang out in a different bed. We were TIRED. The thing is, they didn't clip some clip on the underneath of the bed. So, the 2 twin beds that made our full size bed kept sliding apart. So, every couple of hours I'd wake up to find that I was sleeping in a space hammock created by the sheets. They finally fixed this. After a good night's sleep , we spent our next day at sea.

On our first whole day at sea we took time to sit out on the deck and read, and Jason ran around with the ipod. My first honeymoon book was Poltergeist by Kat Richardson. I enjoyed it, but it was kinda slow and difficult to understand, as I had not read the first book (this was the second in the series).
For dinner that night we went to Mambo's. It was tex-mex style. I had fajitas and Jason had these seafood skewers things that were awesomely delicious. That was probably the best restaurant on the boat. After there we headed up for a 50's style night at the big "Spinnaker Lounge". We saw some dancers and listened to some songs then we were pooped and wanted to get some sleep in preparations for our day in Cozumel!

It rang! (kinda)

So......

I have a new car!

I had to kick some hiney on the phone with capital one, but I got things done and we got a check! The one pictured isn't mine, but it's the right color. I'll post some of mine when it stops raining and I get it clean. Its so purple. I love it. Its fun to drive and so far, good on gas. I think the whole thing might be over-ish.

I am waiting for 3 calls right now and they are just not coming! I'm so frustrated! I want my phone to ring! And in a particular order! HURRY UP!

First I need to hear from the atty that it is indeed okay to get the money from the car ins co. I thought of this last night and I hope it is. I left her a message, but nothing yet.

Next I need to hear from the car ins co that they have a check for me.

Then I need to hear that the car is in, so I can go get it!

Honeymoon Day 3 Bon Voyage! (part one)

We got up in the morning and took the mustang back. It was pretty easy, there was a big parking garage and no fuss. We had checked out of the hotel and had all of our stuff with us in the (now dead *frown* ) sonata. We didn't really have anywhere to go, and we weren't supposed to be at the boat until noon. We decided to drive to near where the port was and find something to do there. we drove and then, all of the sudden, we were there! There wasn't really a choice other than to park the car in the garage and go! It was easy to board, only problem being one jerk. I decided while we were waiting, to call and let my parents know that we were off, and I was talking to Mom about the LOOONG drive, and this guy starts screaming about no cell phones in the whatever area we were in. I really mean screaming. He was really upset. There were no signs posted and I to this day have no idea why it was such a big deal.

ANYWAY we go onto the boat. They let us know that the rooms weren't ready yet, but that we could go grab some lunch in the buffet kind of place, I think it was called the garden Cafe. This all seems SO long ago now. We have some lunch and run around looking at stuff until we hear that the rooms are ready. We go find ours, only to discover that it wasn't quite ready after all. Oh well, no big. We keep wandering and I am tired. I still didn't feel like I had caught up on sleep yet and I looked like this:
You can see some early sunburn and my chipped nails. We got into our room and granted, it was small, but I expected that. We took a short nap and we went up for sailaway! We found a spot where we could look out over the front of the boat, and you could see down to the world's saddest pool. I never saw ANYONE in that pool and I still don't know what it was there for. Maybe for the crew? Who knows.
Across from where the boat was docked was a shipping yard. Also known as where crimes happen. Seriously this must have been a set for at least 30 movies. I'm sure there were car chases and shootouts happening right then. Look!

Yeah. We waved goodbye to no-one in particular and had already made reservations for dinner, so it was time to go explore the ship some more. More on that tomorrow! (or whenever I find motivation....)

Been wondering?

No post from my birthday no you see? How could I not post on by birthday you ask? It's because on the morning of my birthday, on my way to work, I wrecked my car. I rear ended a guy at a stoplight. I feel HORRIBLE, and I'm all bruised and burned. Jason came to save me and took a look at the car. He and I and everyone who's seen the pictures thought it was just cosmetic damage. It drove onto the wrecker. The people in the truck were fine. He drove the truck away, and wasn't injured.

Today they called me and told me that my car was totaled. I bawled. I feel so dumb, and I don't have anyone to blame but myself. The first person said that the biggest reason for totaling it was the airbag and the wiring harness. Then the second person said that there was frame damage. Jason doesn't think so, but what are you going to do? So, now I have to find a new car. Jason and I are looking at new honda fits. I suppose that should make me really happy, but I still feel AWFUL. I feel like I'm dragging this wonderful man down, and I know he doesn't deserve it. People, help me out.

Honeymoon Day 2 Homestead

We woke up early on our second day of honeymoon and Jason went to rent our car for the day! It was a Shelby mustang:

Extremely powerful throaty car. You could raise the front end up off the ground really easy. It was fun to drive. When Jason was bringing it back to the hotel, I could hear him a block away. We got in and drove to Miami Homestead speedway.

Indycar season opener! Yay! We had good seats for the race and there was a lot to see at the track. We got to go in the pits. We could really get right up to the cars. Hence, this picture or Jason's carbon fiber ring on the carbon fiber mirror. There were all of these sheriffs on three wheeled segways. We saw one of them try to put it up on a sidewalk by popping a wheelie, and he almost turned it over. Later we saw another and I told the guy that it looked like fun. This is the result:

After that we sat to watch a great race. The highlight for me was when TK said that it didn't matter that one of his wheels was hanging by a thread, he was going to restart. He eventually had to pull in, and the question you're all asking, where did our guy Vitor finish? 10th, not too shabby. The next day, on to the boat!

Garden

We made the garden this weekend! We started with a boring grassy lawn. Jason had bought me some awesome garden tools and we made quick (ish) work of that.It was easier than I thought it would be with that tool, but not really quick. So yeah. We are almost finished digging, and we have found all kinds of leftovers from the power company. Little wires, pink twisties, and all kinds of other junk. We hadn't come across anything hard until the very end when we found this:

It's a root. Probably from the tree that died this past winter. Not only did it die, it wanted to take the power lines with it. We finally got it gone, but it didn't want to be forgotten. We had to break out the power tools to get rid of it.

Finally it was done and the plants were purchased by my wonderful mother, who will reap the benefits this summer.

I've planted:
corn
peas
cucumber
dill
broccoli
lettuce
green peppers
jalapeƱo peppers
tomatoes
strawberries
blackberries

yay! I'll give updates as the happen!

Shake Senora

We had an earthquake this morning! I know! Indiana? Earthquake? But we are on a fault line, the New Madrid fault. At about 5:38, I woke up and said, after moments of confusion "Honey, I think we're having an earthquake". It lasted a long time! It was stronger and much longer than the only other one I've felt (in 1987). We didn't even make it out of bed though. It was really confusing. The kitties were all hiding under the worst thing possible, a collapsible drying rack. They were fine, however and so was the rest of everything.

Just about 10 minutes ago, at work, we had an aftershock too. I didn't feel as much as see this one, all of my desk stuff was rattling. What did you feel? Anything? Let me know!

Honeymoon Day 1 Part 3, The neverending Drive

Yeah, that's what I thought of when I wrote the title. After Gypsy Gold, we got back on the road. It was THE LONGEST part of the trip. We drove and drove. And Drove and drove, and drove and drove. Traffic was horrendous from about Boca Raton to Hollywood. We were really done at that point. The Florida Turnpike cost us $11 and it was 6pm when we finally reached our hotel.

After some problems with keys, we got in and the room was very nice. 2 balconies, a beautiful shower, nice furniture etc. Remind me later to show you the picture of the running robe. You'll understand then. We immediately changed and headed out to the beach.

It was a beautiful beach, next to a wide pathway called the broadwalk. There were little windows in it that made for an excellent photo op.

We walked for a while and looked at it all, and then made our way to a karaoke place to meet some folks for dinner. Some of those singers were really serious.....

..... ABOUT SUCKING! It was entertaining. So finally, after about 36 hours awake, we finally went to sleep. Until tomorrow...
