Victory!

This weekend, I felt victorious. I finished my first non dishrag, it turned out the way I wanted it, to knitting project.

What was it you ask? (O.K., you probably don't ask that, because I bet you can see the pictures already.

Anyway, if you DID ask... I like this pitcher. But, as many pitchers do, it drips. It drips drops of crystal light (or if we had anything else in there) onto the pitcher, and they run down onto whatever the pitcher is sitting on. Eeeew. So, my quick solution, I tied a dishtowel around the neck. Then one night, I was sitting there, and thought, Hey! I can knit something for that! So I made this little band to go around. I used straight needles, and sewed the strip together on the pitcher, so if I want to take it off and wash it, I'll have to sew it back on, but that was the easy part!

So it works wonderfully. I feel like I can tackle something bigger now. Anyone got tips for teh knitting? I seem to have a problem casting off and keeping it from unraveling. I also have the super ability to add stitches when I don't want to, but I seem to be keeping that one at bay.

p.s. there's a cat in that picture. He was unaware I was photographing him (as was I), so he did not have time to pose as he usually does. He threatened me with a length of pipe until I typed this disclaimer.

I think your knitting looks awesome. And it's functional too. Unlike me. As for Mr. Tabs, he can get violent sometimes. His nickname of Stabby isn't just a cute name. It's pretty descriptive. He takes his cuteness very seriously

Good idea! I hate it when pitchers drip.

Instead of sewing it back on all the time, could you sew a loop of yarn on one end and a button on the other end to attach it?

I wish I could remember how to knit. My grandma taught me a longggg time ago.

The button is a great idea. There's even instructions in my book about how to make a button hole.

Sarah, I don't think I know Kristie in real life! I think somehow I just found her blog and read it!

And yes, the cat is a force to be reckoned with.
